Reflection of Domain 4:
My development: Addressing domain 4 during my NSC course work was a challenge because you don’t come across many of the components while you are learning about the basics of instruction in education. Over my time at O.K. Adcock Elementary where I was able to student teach I came into most of the components more than once such as keeping adequate grade books, student completion of assignments, gaining knowledge of the profession at school functions, associating with colleagues around the school. This is a domain that I will grow and be able to contribute to over time because I have not currently established myself completely into the school district. This is only the beginning. I feel that I am basic at this point and I still have a lot to gain and learn from this domain to become proficient at it.

Staff Development Day
During my student teaching I was grateful to attend two staff development days. At these said development days teachers were given various artifacts to emphasize and pay attention to in the upcoming days of the school year here I displayed the new format of the report cards for this year and how it will be displayed for students. We also emphasized on making AYP last year and that the overall growth of the school is great. During one of the days we went over Kagan strategies because a handful of teachers had attended a training so they showed us various techniques to use in our classrooms to incorporate cooperative learning. I felt that during these times I learned a lot about what a teachers knowledge has to be not only in the content of learning but district wide programs and things that come up during the year that teachers need to work their curriculm around.

Reflection of Domain 3
My development: Instructional planning and delivering of content to students is an important domain to gain more of a wide range of knowledge. Over my NSC course work I have found that discovering new knowledge in teaching styles is great because you probably will change the way you complete your lessons. I feel like my knowledge of content pedagogy has grown tremendously and being able to see what I am comfortable with I feel that explicit instruction is one of the best ways to teach students and to convey the objectives in a clear and accurate way for the students to succeed. My pacing has become more adequate because I have been in the classroom setting to where I have had my triumphs and my failures. In the end I find that breaking apart each component of your lesson into time increments helped me keep my schedule but where I also didn’t have to cut things out of the day. My quality of questions has grown because I focus more on the quality and how it will develop discussion and engage my students. I feel that I am still at a basic level for instruction because I still need to become comfortable with the content I would teach and develop my strategies with grade level more in my mind.

Grade Level Meetings
During this specific grade level meeting we discussed the new writing proficiency format for 5th grade students as well as the grading scale. Basically the new test will be on the computer students will be grade holistically which means all the traits students would be graded on separately are now put together in a 1 through 4 grading scale. Another issue was that students will have to conduct these essays on the computer when most don't have basic typing skills so some of those grammatical errors will occur because of that and they shouldn't get penalized for that either. As far as the writing prompts students will all have different generated prompt from opinion writing, persuasive writing, or narrative writing. There is no brainstorming allowed for students with teacher because of the new rules, but students are allowed to write a rough draft before writing their essays but teachers may not instruct them to do so. After we went over the basic knowledge we did some practice papers where we each read them and wanted to see if we graded them right based of the new grading scale. I feel like the new grading scale for writing is awesome, but my main issue is with the typing it on the computer because over my course of student teaching I have seen students struggle and make minor errors that wouldn't have occurred if it was written.
