Welcome to my wikispace page. My name is Elisa Calaunan and I am a current student teacher at the Nevada State college and I will be completed by December 7th 2011 receiving my bachelors in Elementary Education. I was born and raised in Las Vegas and grew up around the Clark County School District from Pre-K to my senior year at Silverado High School. Going through all that I have found that teaching is a rewarding and vigorous job that as educators thrive to make students successful.During my sophomore year in high school, Silverado had a meeting with all the sophomores about the STEP up program and CSN high school. Basically the STEP up program is a program for students aspiring to be future educators, it provides the funding for your journey through college. For me this was the opportunity to grab and take advantage of it because teaching is my dream. I would have never been able to accomplish that without the STEP up program. During my last two years of high school I took college courses and thrived in my other courses required for graduation.Once graduation came in June 2008, I went full force and took many classes at CSN to finish my college courses to recieve my Associates of Arts in Elementary Education. In Fall of 2008 I took a semester off to become a mother and take time for my family. I started up again Spring 2009 and finished with my Associates in Fall 2009 with aa 3.2 GPA.That following year I started up at Nevada State College where, I took an accelerated number of classes to make up for that one semester I took off. Two years later here I am completing my student teaching internship. I want to be able to educate students with not only a firm academic attitude but to also be compassionate for those who don't have a role model other than the teacher they come too see everyday. I am ready to start my journey through the domains and my knowledge of the specific components and analyzing where I began at NSC and where I ended up. Reflection is are greatest asset.
