Artifact 3 - Domain 3 - Component3b - Using questions and Discussion Techniques
Descriptions: (Quality of Questions, Discussion Techniques, and Student participation)
Quality of Questions
Questioning is a hard strategy for students to master. As well as for teachers to come up with good quality questions to formulate their thinking and provide engaging discussion. The artifact that is to the left of the screen is and example of questioning students during reading time. Basically you need to be able to formulate questions at the beginning, middle, and end. These questions progress from before we read text, during reading of the text, and after we have finished the text.
On the very last picture or artifact this is my layout of the questioning and activities that I would do to make this a meaningful mini lesson for the students. It talks about my formulation of questions. The book I chose for the mini lesson is great for questions because there is a lot of unanswered things going on.
